Activities
While your child is here I will encourage them to be involved in a wide range of activities.
Children will be encouraged to become confident, happy, healthy and adventurous through lots of indoor and outdoor activities. I will encourage your child to develop social, cognitive, emotional, physical and linguistic skills with age appropriate activities including:
- Arts and crafts – activities with paints using hand painting, bubble painting, printing, play dough, making collages, etc, drawing with crayons, chalks, pencils.
- IT - access to various pre-school educational programmes and ‘Parental Control’ will be used for access to web-sites for older children.
- Singing and action Rhymes to develop memory and learning of numbers, colours, alphabet, etc.
- Role play which stimulates imagination and helps with social development. Helpful with literacy and numeracy ( e.g. play shops, cafe, library, )
- Problem solving through puzzles, jig-saws, activity sheets
- Free play which enables children to make choices and develop independence.
- Physical play in garden activities e.g. ball games, tunnel, sit’n’ride toys, trampoline, slide, swings.
